The following deaths have occurred:-
Mary Doherty, Derry
It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Mary Doherty, August 10 2025, formerly of The Ligg, Strathfoyle and Foyle Fold, beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Mary, loving sister of Margaret, John, Connie, Gerry, Pat and the late Jimmy and a much loved aunt. All at welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Tuesday from 3.00pm – 5.00pm and on Wednesday from 6.00pm – 8.00pm. Mary’s remains will then be removed at 8.00pm to repose overnight in St Mary’s Church, Tamnaherin. Requiem Mass will be celebrated there on Thursday at 10o’clock. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.
Daisy Kane, Lapwing Way, Derry
The death has occurred of the late Daisy Kane, August 11 2025, peacefully at Deanfield Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Wilbert. Late of Lapwing Way. Funeral service in Adair & Neely Funeral Home at 12noon on Wednesday, August 13 followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Patrick (Paddy) Lavery, 68 Drumleck Drive, Shantallow, Derry
The death has taken place of the late Patrick (Paddy) Lavery, August 11 2025, beloved husband of Anne, 68 Drumleck Drive, Shantallow, loving father of Derek, Alan, Brian, Leontia and Colm, father-in-law of Mary, Kathleen, David and Caitriona and a much loved grandfather and brother. Paddy’s remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Eileen Mary Ann McAteer (née McDonald), 6 Robertson Crescent, Limavady
We regret to inform you the death has taken place of Eileen Mary Ann McAteer (née McDonald), peacefully at The Northwest Cancer Centre on August 10 2025, may she rest in peace. Late of 6 Robertson Crescent, Limavady, Co Derry. Wife of the late Colum R.I.P. Loving mother of Paul (Sharon) and the late Wendy R.I.P. Devoted grandmother of Kaci, Chloe, Paul, Annmarie and great grandmother of Oliver. Daughter of the late Sammy John and Eileen of Derryork and dear sister of Jean, Albert, Sally, twin Wilma and the late Ellen and Florence R.I.P. Reposing at her sister Wilma’s home 9 Donald’s Way, Limavady. Family time from 10.00pm to 10.00am. Eileen’s wake will commence on Tuesday, August 12 at 10.00am. Funeral from her sister Wilma home on Thursday, August 14 leaving at 9.20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Limavady. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The death has taken place of Christina (Tina) Peoples (née Hepburn), August 10 2025, Peacefully at Culmore Manor Care Home (surrounded by her loving family) cherished mum of Rhoda (Kevin), Don (Charmaine), Gordon (Sharon), Darren (Caroline), an adored grand mother and great grandmother, dearest sister of Victor, Jean, Eileen and the late Gretta and John. Funeral leaving her daughter Rhoda’s home, 5 Drumcraig Road, Newbuildings, Derry on Wednesday, August 13 at 1.30pm followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for her life at 2.00pm in Leckpatrick Parish Church, burial afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. The death has occurred of the late George White, August 10 2025, (peacefully) at his home, 73 Portrush Road, Coleraine, George. Deeply loved husband of Ellen, much loved father of Louise and Paul, dear father-in-law of Frank and Belinda and devoted Granda of Kyle and Lauren.
