The following deaths have occurred:-
Mary Elizabeth (Yvonne) Campbell (née Wilson), 8 Ashburn Avenue, Woodburn, Derry
Mary Elizabeth (Yvonne) Campbell (née Wilson), 21st August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital (in her 87th year) much loved wife of the late Victor, devoted mum of Donna and Wilson, loving mother-in-law of Brian and Paula, adored grandmother of Kyle, Stacey, Scott, Jordan, Adam, Andrew and the late Leah, a cherished great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Service of Thanksgiving for her life in her late home, 8 Ashburn Avenue, Woodburn on Thursday, 24th August at 1.30pm followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. (House Private but everyone is welcome to attend the funeral.) Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Cancer Research N.I. c/o Mrs. Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Brigid Diamond (née Madden), 154 Mullaghboy Road, Ballymacpeake, Lavey
The death has taken place of Brigid Diamond (née Madden), 22nd August 2023, (peacefully) at hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Late of 154 Mullaghboy Road, Ballymacpeake, Lavey. Beloved wife of the late John Joe and much loved mother of Martina, Sinead, Eileen and Rita. Her remains will leave her late residence on Thursday, 24th August at 10.20am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Lavey, burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing daughters, son in law David, grandchildren Caolan, Conor and Ellie and all her family and friends who loved her so much. St Brigid pray for her.
Bernard Doherty, 32 Culmore Park, Derry
The death has taken place of Bernard Doherty, 21st August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Bridie, 32 Culmore Park (formerly of Carnhill) loving father of Lorraine, Louise and Eamon, devoted grandfather of Jade, Gillian, Darren, Casey, Joshua, Ciara and the late Louie, great-grandfather of Harlee and Ariyah and dear brother of Laurence, Maureen, Margaret and the late John and Kathleen. His remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Thursday at 11.30am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn. Interment afterwards in the City cemetery. Susan McNicoll (née Hasson), 317A Culbane Terrace, Glenullin
The death has occurred of Susan McNicoll (née Hasson), 21st August 2023, (peacefully) at hospital, beloved wife of the late Dan; loving mother of Anne Marie (Walsh), Gerard, Kieran, Theresa (McGrath), Donal, Declan, Colm, Edel (Cutler), Giles, Phelim and the late Harry and a much-loved mother-in-law and Granny. Family time 10.00pm-10.00am please. Removal from her late residence, 317A Culbane Terrace, on Thursday evening at 6.45pm to St. Joseph’s Church, Glenullin (arriving 7.30pm). Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11.00am. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Our Lady of Knock pray for her. Deeply regretted by the entire family circle. Philomena Martin (née Brolly), Derry
The death has taken place of Philomena Martin (née Brolly), 22nd August 2023, (peacefully) at Melmount Manor Nursing Home, Strabane. Beloved wife of the late Robert, Loving Mother of Margaret, Robbie, and Shirley. A much loved Grandmother. Dear sister of Bertie, Mickey and George. Philomena will be reposing at her daughter Margarets home, 5 Nicholson Gardens, Ardmore from 11.00am today (Wednesday). Funeral from there on Thursday at 10.20am to St Mary's Church, Ardmore for Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Gareth Morrin, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Gareth Morrin, (suddenly) on 21st August 2023. May he rest in peace. Beloved son of Stella and the late Dozer. Loving brother of Ciara, Danielle, Glenn and Tammi. A much loved brother-in-law of Erin, Diarmuid, Damian and Nicole. Dearest uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Gareth’s remains will be reposing at his sister Ciara’s residence. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, 24th August at 12.50pm for 1.30pm Requiem Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. The death has occurred of Sarah Jane (Jean) Williams (née Baxter), 22nd August 2023, (peacefully) at Causeway Hospital, late of Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Dearly loved wife of the late Reg, loving sister of Roberta and the late Margaret, Shirley and George, dearest aunt of Debbie and husband Andy and great-aunt of Jordan, Adam and Jessica.
