The following deaths have occurred:-
Sarah Patricia Callan (née McGilloway) (Wee Sadie), 28 Lislane Drive, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Sarah Patricia Callan (née McGilloway) (Wee Sadie), peacefully at Altnagelvin hospital, surrounded by all of her loving family on 25th September 2023. Late of 28 Lislane Drive. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of James (Jimmy). Devoted mother of Fionnuala, Niall and Dónal. A much loved daughter of the late Danny and Lily. Dearest sister of Ann, Briege, Tony, James, Mena and Gabrielle. Loving granny of Cadhán, Cahir, Daithí, and Fiadh. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Sadie’s remains will be reposing at her late home, 28 Lislane Drive. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, 28th September at 10.20am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St. Mary's Church, Creggan. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Christy (Pixie) Gillespie, Whitehouse Park, Derry
The death has taken place of Christy (Pixie) Gillespie, 26th September 2023, peacefully at the Foyle Hospice (late of Whitehouse Park), beloved partner of Martina, loving father of Sharmaine and Mark, much loved grandfather of Faith, Fayah, Bobby, Zara and Sophia, cherished son of Charlie and the late Jennifer and dear brother of Paul, Noel and the late Sean. His remains will be reposing in the family home, 19 Lenamore Gardens. Funeral from there on Thursday at 1.30pm for 2o’clock Requiem Mass in St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill. Interment afterwards in St Aengus' Cemetery Burt, Co Donegal. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. James Eugene “Seamus” Grieve, Apartment 3, No 10 Clooney Terrace, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of James Eugene “Séamus” Grieve, 25th of September 2023. May he rest in peace. Late of Apartment 3, No 10 Clooney Terrace and formerly 476 Glenshane Road, Claudy, Co Derry. Beloved son of the late John and Sarah-Agnes R.I.P and loving brother of Kathleen, John, Pat, Dolores, Noel, Finbar and the late Margaret and James Eugene (Seamus) R.I.P. Deeply regretted by his nieces, nephews and the entire family circle. Ann Heaney (née McGilligan), 258B Drumsurn Road, Drumsurn
The death has occurred of Ann Heaney (née McGilligan), 26th September 2023, peacefully at hospital surrounded by her loving family, beloved wife of Charlie. Daughter of the late Johnnie and Mary and beloved sister of Celine (Woods), Susan (McKillop), Tommy and the late Mickey and John Joe. Ann’s remains will be reposing from her home. Family time 10.00pm to 11.00am please. Funeral from her late residence, 258B Drumsurn Road, on Thursday at 11.20am for 12noon Requiem Mass in St. Matthew’s Church, Drumsurn. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Our Lady of Lourdes pray for her. No flowers please. The death has occurred of Caroline McDaid (née Temple), 25th September 2023, peacefully at her home, 26 Stephen’s Court, Ballymagroarty, beloved wife of Micky, loving mother of Michael, Denise and Damien, devoted grandmother of Matthew, Elle, Lucy, Aaron, Niamh, Paityn and Ruben, cherished sister of Noella, Martin, Geraldine, Jim, Celine, Kieran, Grainne, Vivienne and the late Joe, Mary and John. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Caroline will be reposing at her home. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Anne McSorley (née McFeeters), 149 The Old Fort, Strathfoyle, Derry
The death has taken place of Anne McSorley (née McFeeters), 25th September 2023, surrounded by her loving family in the kind care of Foyle Hospice, beloved daughter of the late David & Sadie, devoted mother to Mark, Tony, Amanda and Martine. loving grandmother of Lucy, Hannah, Aaron, Megan, Niamh, Lorcan and Rogan, mother-in-law of Debbie, Denise and Cahal. Lovingly remembered by her sisters and brothers and forever missed by her loving family, especially by her four legged friends Teddy, Twinkles and the late Elton. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 149 The Old Fort, Strathfoyle on Wednesday from 2.00pm to 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Thursday at 11.30am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in St. Oliver Plunkett’s Church Strathfoyle. Private interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Melmount, Strabane. Andrew James (Andy) Patterson, 245 Gortin Meadows, Newbuildings
The death has taken place of Andrew James (Andy) Patterson, 25th September 2023, suddenly at his home, 245 Gortin Meadows, Newbuildings (in his 34th year) loving partner of Maggie, dear father of Leo, dearest son of Jimmy and the late Jean, much loved brother of Sarah and Gregg, adored uncle of Joanna, Amy, William and Grace. Service of Thanksgiving in his late home on Thursday, 28th September at 12.00noon followed by burial in Mountcastle Cemetery.
