Derry man (25) returned for trial on series of drug charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of drug charges.

Dylan Beattie (25) of Ard Grange in Derry appeared at a Preliminary Inquiry at the local Magistrates' Court today.

He faced a total of five charges including unlawfully supplying Class A and Class B drugs on dates between February 1, 2023 and July 31, 2023.

He was also charged with possessing drugs on July 9, 2024 and one charge of obstructing a search for drugs on the same date.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Beattie said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on June 18 and remanded in custody.
