Sean Walsh (21) of Patrick Street in Derry appeared charged with being in breach of his bail conditions

A man whose bail conditions prohibit him from having contact with his mother appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with breaching his bail.

Sean Walsh (21) of Patrick Street in Derry appeared charged with breaching his bail by being in contact with his mother and being in the Creggan area again in breach of his bail conditions.

A police officer told the court that the conditions had been put in place in order to protect the defendant's mother and police had found Walsh in her company in Creggan breaching his bail.

Defence counsel Sinead Rogan said that the defendant just wanted to see his mother but should not have done so.

She said that there had been 'no violence or new offences' and added that the defendant had 'a limited record'.

Deputy District Judge John Rea said he would release Walsh on bail again but told the defendant this was his 'last chance'.

Walsh will appear again on August 23.
