A man charged with possessing a AKM rifle with intent to endanger life and in suspicious circumstances has been granted bail at Derry Magistrate's Court.
Martin Burke (59) of Lone Moor Gardens in Derry faced two charges in relation to the weapon that were said to have occurred on May 21 this year.
At today's hearing a prosecutor said that the defendant's co-accused had been granted High Court bail and so there could be no real objection to bail for Burke with certain conditions.
She said there was 'no evidential difference between the two.'
District Judge Barney McElholm granted Burke bail on condition he observes a curfew from 9pm until 7am, wears a tag, not to possess more than one mobile phone, to report to the police twice a week and not to associate with a number of named individuals.
A cash surety was also required of £3,500.
Burke will appear again on October 24.
