Boyle faces 13 charges including attempted GBH with intent

A Derry man facing 13 charges including attempted grievous bodily harm with intent has had a bail application adjourned to see if his licence from prison is revoked.

Harry Boyle (33) of Claremont House in Derry was charged with two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent on February 10.

He was also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, report and remain after an accident, driving while disqualified and with no insurance again on February 10.

Boyle was further charged with non fatal strangulation against a female on the same date, assault on her occasioning actual bodily harm and assault charges against the same female on the same date and one assault on February 9.

A police officer connected the accused to the charges.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley asked the officer had the alleged victim made a statement and was told arrangements were underway for that to happen.

He also asked the officer was he aware as to the situation as regards Boyle's release licence.

The officer said he was aware Boyle was on licence until March 14 and was 'already on his final warning' and consideration was being given to recalling him to prison.

Mr Quigley said that it was 'an extremely serious case' and there had been injuries.

He said that if Boyle was recalled to prison any ball application 'would be redundant'.

The case was adjourned until February 19.
