Police found O'Hagan missing from his home before he arrived drunk at the police station an hour later

A man has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with breaching his bail conditions.

John Paul O'Hagan (43) of Rinmore Drive in Derry is awaiting sentence for assaulting police and disorderly behaviour on March 20.

The court heard that O'Hagan had breached his curfew and alcohol conditions.

The court heard that on July 8 the defendant was not present at his bail address after his curfew which began at 8pm.

At 1.55am police attended and spoke to a female and the defendant was not present.

At 2.50am O'Hagan handed himself in to the police station and was obviously intoxicated.

Bail was opposed as this was the third breach of bail since August pre-sentence report was ordered.

Defence counsel Sinead Rogan said that her client could be given 'one final opportunity'.

District Judge Suzanne Rice said that she couldn't be satisfied that O'Hagan would abide by conditions.

She refused bail and O'Hagan was remanded in custody to appear again on July 10.
