Derry man remanded in custody on drug supply charges
A 25-year-old Derry man has appeared at the city’s Magistrates Court charged with possession of £21,000 of drugs with intent to supply.
Gavin Fisher, whose address was given on court documents as Maghaberry Prison, before the court charged with possession of Class A and Class B drugs, namely cocaine and Clephedrone, with intent to supply.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place on July 1, 2015.
A police officer in court said he could connect Fisher to the offences.
Paddy MacDermott, defence solicitor, said there had been a “minute particle” of DNA linking Fisher to the Class B drugs but nothing linking him to the Class A.
The police officer told the court DNA had been found on the knot of the bag of Class B drugs and that there had been no forensic evidence on the Class A drugs but the bags used for the Class B drugs were 'similar'.
There was no bail application and Fisher will appear back before the court again via video link from prison on December 3.
