Derry man to face trial on series of domestic abuse charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of domestic abuse charges.
Alex Crawford, 24, of Kinsale Park in Derry, appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today.
He is charged with seven counts of assault against the same woman on dates between October 1 and November 16, 2022.
He is also charged with falsely imprisoning the woman, criminal damage to a phone and carrying out a course of behaviour that amounted to domestic abuse again on the same dates.
It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
Crawford said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
He will be returned for trial on November 22 and released on bail.
