Kevin McDaid (37) of Rockmills in Derry was not present in court but a solicitor entered a guilty plea for him
The case against a Derry man who admitted disorderly behaviour in a licensed premises has been adjourned for a week after a judge said given his record he should be present in court.
Kevin McDaid (37) of Rockmills in Derry was not present in court but a solicitor entered a guilty plea for him to two charges that occurred on May 1 this year.
The court heard that police were called to a report of a male being disorderly in the Trinity Bar.
They attended and saw staff restraining McDaid on the floor.
They were told the defendant had threatened staff with paramilitaries and when police approached he became disorderly and abusive.
Police were concerned at his level of intoxication given that it was only 2.30pm.
McDaid initially gave police false details but was recognised and identified.
Deputy District Judge Laura Ievers said that given McDaid's record she did not want to proceed without him being present in court.
The case was adjourned until September 11 to allow McDaid to appear.
