Derry shop named 'High-Convenience Store of the Year' for third year running

Five stores in County Derry have been commended for excellence at the Musgrave Northern Ireland ‘Store of the Year Awards’

At the recent Musgrave Northern Ireland ‘Store of the Year Awards’, five stores in County Derry have been commended for excellence.

The Musgrave awards ceremony celebrates and recognises the achievements, hard work and dedication of its retail partners across the SuperValu, Centra and MACE brands.

Centra Kavanagh’s Waterloo Place in Derry took home the title of Centra High-Convenience Store of the Year for the third year running, while SuperValu Portstewart was once again crowned Company Owned SuperValu Store of the Year.

Mace Wilson’s Coleraine was a finalist in the Mace Store of the Year large format category.

SuperValu Limavady and Centra Bradley’s Maghera were both crowned as Fundraisers of the Year for their support of Action Cancer, raising an incredible £13,105 and £5,342 respectively for the charity last year.

Trevor Magill, Managing Director of Musgrave Northern Ireland said: “The Musgrave Store of the Year awards provide us the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements, hard work and dedication of our retail partners and Musgrave owned stores, across our three brands.

Collecting the award for Centra Fundraising Store of the Year is Kellie Monaghan from Centra Bradley’s Maghera which raised £5,342 for Action Cancer last year. The awards ceremony was hosted by journalist and broadcaster Sarah Travers last Friday night in The Culloden Estate and Spa Hotel. Finalists are selected following several rigorous rounds of performance and standards audits, with the highest accolade being ‘Store of the Year’.
