Derry woman blames late taxi for missed curfew breach

Court warns 35-year-old over 'stretching' bail terms despite defense arguing breach was minor.
A woman has been told that she was 'stretching' her bail conditions after she was breached for missing her curfew.
Moya Friel (35) of Old School Lane in Derry appeared charged with breaching her curfewon June 30 by now being at her address after 10pm.
A police officer told the court that the monitoring unit reported no reply from Friel at 10.05pm with her curfew being for 10pm.
Police called to her address at 10.54pm and she was present and apologised to police and said her taxi had been late.
The police officer told the court that Friel had breached her curfew on April 4, 5, 6 and 7 of this year and the officer said that on other occasions police had simply issued a warning and not brought Friel to court.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said the important thing was that there had been no further offences.
He said on the latest breach Friel had returned to her address at 10.10pm.
He said all Friel's previous breaches were 'very minor curfew breaches' and asked for her to be re-admitted to bail with a warning.
Friel was granted bail and will appear again on July 29.
