Derry woman charged with arson and endangering life

Laura McLaughlin (38) of Great James Street in Derry appeared charged with arson with intent to endanger life
A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with arson.
Laura McLaughlin (38) of Great James Street in Derry appeared charged with arson with intent to endanger life on May 3.
She was also charged with assaulting a male on the same date and both these charges were aggravated by domestic abuse.
McLaughlin was further charged with criminal damage to a mobile phone again on May 3.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges and told the court there was no objection to bail as the defendant had a clear record but asked for 'stringent conditions'.
District Judge Suzanne Rice said these were 'very serious charges ' but agreed to bail.
McLaughlin was granted bail on condition she has no contact with the alleged injured party or witnesses in the case, she observes a curfew, no alcohol and she does not go within 200 metres of the alleged victim's address.
She will appear again on June 1.
