Derry woman charged with criminal damage and assault

Amy Tracey (36) of St. Brecan's Park was charged with criminal damage and assault following an incident at her cousin's flat
A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with criminal damage and assault following an incident at her cousin's flat.
Amy Tracey (36) of St. Brecan's Park in Derry was arrested after police were called to a flat in Patrick Street.
Upon arriving, police said they found Tracey wrecking the flat that belonged to her cousin while covered in her own blood.
They also found a number of items that had been smashed and blood on the walls.
It was said that Tracey had been drinking when she started wrecking the flat, something she denied, although she did later admit to taking a pill.
When interviewed by police, Tracey threatened to kill herself when released.
Police objected to bail, telling the court that she had a criminal record including a number of serious offences of a violent nature, as well as ten previous breaches of bail.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that Tracey had mental health issues but added that she can stay off drugs and alcohol, telling the court that she had done so in the past for prolonged periods of time.
Bail was granted and she will appear again on August 22.
