Derry woman charged with criminal damage remanded

Hannah Duddy (29) of Rockmills in Derry was arrested on July 23 after police were called to a report of a disturbance with people fighting outside the housing complex
A woman has been remanded in custody following an appearance at Derry Magistrates Court on charges of criminal damage.
Hannah Duddy (29) of Rockmills in Derry was arrested on July 23 after police were called to a report of a disturbance with people fighting outside the housing complex.
Police arrived and were security had separated a female and brought her inside the building after which Duddy was said to have kicked and broken the front door of the building, something that was caught on CCTV.
Police noticed that Duddy appeared to be drunk at the time, failing a breath test which led to charges of breaching her bail conditions.
When interviewed, Duddy made full apologies and said that she didn't mean to break the door.
The court heard that Duddy, who was on bail for various offences, has 96 previous convictions and ten suspended sentences, as well as issues with alcohol.
Police objected to bail as they believe Duddy is at high risk of reoffending.
Defence Barrister Sinead Rogan said that Duddy had been on bail for three months without incident, telling the court that this was a 'considerable time' for her to remain compliant.
She added that Rockmills were happy to take her back and that she was seeking treatment at Woodlea House for her alcohol issues.
Police told the court that Duddy was previously ordered not to attend Woodlea House without an appointment and police presence.
Bail was refused and she will appear again on August 15.
