A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court following a breach of her bail conditions where she was described as posing a risk to herself and others.

Courtney Temple (20) of Magazine Street in Derry was arrested after coming to the attention of police when she was in the middle of traffic of the Strand Road.

Temple had been granted bail last week with amended conditions that stated she could not be intoxicated in public, being told that she had to blow a reading of 35 or less when tested by police.

When found by police, Temple blew a reading of 121.

Defence Barrister Sinead Rogan said that Temple had been 'doing quite well' with her bail until now, adding that, being an alcoholic, Temple's blood alcohol was 'generally high'.

District Judge Conor Heaney said that Temple's reading was 'grossly in excess' of the limit that had been set by the court and refused bail.

She will appear again on August 19.
