Derry woman with 'relevant record' back in court 24 hours after being released

Danielle Sweeney-Lawlor (34) of Sheelin Park in Derry was arrested on July 1 on charges of assault, assaulting police, attempted criminal damage and disorderly behavior
A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court less than twenty-four hours after being released from custody.
Danielle Sweeney-Lawlor (34) of Sheelin Park in Derry was arrested on July 1 on charges of assault, assaulting police, attempted criminal damage and disorderly behavior.
Police were initially called after Sweeney-Lawlor was said to have been causing issues in Clon Elagh, throwing bottles and chasing someone who managed to get away.
She was said to have grabbed the person by the throat and to be throwing bottles at their home, breaking the front windows.
While in custody, she was said to have resisted police, spitting on one officer and biting another, breaking the skin.
When interviewed, she made partial admissions to the charges.
Police opposed bail as Sweeney-Lawlor had only been out less than a day before being arrested again.
Defence Barrister Stephen Chapman said that Sweeney-Lawlor has a 'relevant record' and may have mental health difficulties.
He added that the incident was mainly localised with people she'd previously fallen out with.
Bail was granted and she will appear again on July 30.
