Dungiven schools close due to no water supply

A number of schools in Dungiven in Co Derry have been forced to close due to no water supply.

Talks aimed at resolving the dispute between Northern Ireland Water and its staff which has left a number of homes in Co Derry without water are to resume today.

Households and properties in Claudy, Dungiven, Feeny, Gortnahey and  Park were among properties across the North left without water over the weekend - that number has risen to 6,500 this morning.

Those in Derry city had been advised to "fill pots" in case of possible outages.

The outages are due to an NI Water staff "work to rule."

As a result, staff are refusing overtime and to attend "call outs."

Talks aimed at resolving the dispute are due to resume today.
