Easter commemorations to be held across Counties Derry and Antrim this weekend

The main commemorative parade will take place in The Loup at 2.30pm on Easter Sunday
This weekend will see a number of commemorative events taking place across the county to mark the 109th anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
Organised by the County Derry and Antrim Republican Graves Association, Sinn Féin Councillor Ian Milne said the events will be a chance to ‘pay tribute to our patriot dead’.
Councillor Milne said: “The main commemorative parade will take place in The Loup at 2.30pm on Easter Sunday. It will assemble at Ballyronan Road before making its way to the graveside of Brigadier Séan Larkin where an oration will be given by Ruairí Ó Murchú TD. As always, the South Derry Martyrs Flute Band will be joined by other bands adding music and colour to the occasion.
“I would encourage everyone to attend and to wear your Easter lily.”
