Ecar testing time in Derry - are there any budding Jeremy Clarkson's out there?

Ever fancied getting behind the wheel of an electric car - well now's your chance.

A special event to highlight the benefits of electric cars will be hosted at the Guildhall in Derry this Wednesday.

The ecar project initiative is backed by the Department for Regional Development and Department of the Environment.

Curious motorist will learn how grants of up to €5,000 are available and how a network of charging points is in place.

And you can register on line if you want a test drive by going to http://www.ecarni.com/drive-show-registration.

The initiative is being back by the local Chamber of Commerce. The show runs from 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
