Foreglen Road closure: Derry GAA issues advice ahead of Owenbeg double header

The Foreglen Road closure is a result of a serious road traffic collision
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and local authorities are advising road users that the Foreglen Road in Dungiven is currently closed in both directions.
The closure is a result of a serious road traffic collision which occurred between the junctions of Drumrane Road and Dernaflaw Road. Emergency services are at the scene.
Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area, exercise extreme caution, and seek alternative routes for their journeys until further notice. Delays are expected in the surrounding areas.
Ahead of this afternoon's double header at Owenbeg, St Marys Slaughtmanus GAC v Clogher Eire Óg (2025 Ulster GAA Football Junior Club Championship) and Lavey v Cootehill Celtic GAA (2025 Ulster GAA Hurling Junior Club Championship), Derry GAA have issued advise for anyone attending.
“Individuals travelling to Owenbeg this afternoon are specifically advised that the Foreglen Road is inaccessible.
“All motorists using the A6 must arrive via the Claudy exit ONLY.”
