The Foyle All Stars showcased their Gaelic football & Hurling skills at Ulster GAA’s recent “Games for All” Festival on the hallowed turf of Croke Park in Dublin.
Established in January 2025, The Foyle All Stars is an Ulster GAA Games for All collaborative project with local clubs and coaches supporting players and parents to participate in an inclusive, diverse and welcoming environment for everyone. Training sessions are hosted in a local club each Saturday from 1pm with players getting the chance to visit a range of clubs across the city. These sessions are aimed at young people aged under 18 who are neurodivergent and/or living with a physical disability.
“We have set up the club to offer a fun, healthy and social outlet for young people with a physical or learning disability and their families," Connor McGilloway explained. "We welcome new players to join at any time and will support them to develop their individual skills and team play in a safe and inclusive environment tailored to their needs”.
Foyle All Stars travelled to Dublin and joined over 500+ players and 37 clubs to participate in this All-Ireland event. The team got to experience the thrill of the players’ changing room and walking out through the players tunnel onto the pitch. For many this was their first time in Croke Park and certainly an experience they will never forget. Just like their GAA football, hurling, camogie and ladies’ football idols, the Foyle All Stars showcased their talents, met new players and scored many points and goals!
The Foyle All Stars are proudly representing the Derry City area and are supported by coaches from Doire Colmcille GAC, Steelstown Brian Og’s GAC, Sean Dolans GAC, Doire Trasna CLG and Na Magha Doire CLG.
You can follow the team’s “Foyle All-Stars” Facebook page where parents can register their child’s interest online and a Foyle All Stars Coach will contact them.
