Golf tournament and charity fundraiser in memory of Tony Griffiths

Fundraising events will be held this weekend in memory of a Derry man who died recently in tragic circumstances.

Tony Griffiths, who was 59, went missing near the Isle of Doagh in Inishowen in August while on a family camping trip.

His body was found a number of days later along a nearby shoreline.

This Saturday, Foyle Golf Club will host a tournament in memory of the popular local man, who was from the Culmore area of the city.

Mr Griffiths (pictured) was a former captain at the club.

That night, a charity event will be held in Pitcher’s Restaurant at the golf club to raise money for both the Irish Coast Guard, who found Mr Griffiths’ body, and his family.

The event will include a Night at the Races and a giveaway with lots of great prizes.
