Here comes the... summer? Sunshine and warm weather is here to stay in Derry

It may well have taken its time but the summer looks to have finally arrived in the north west.

Locals have revelled in a beautiful change of weather in the past week just as the schools started back and there looks to be more sunshine and warm weather to enjoy over the next five days at least.

The Met Office confirmed that they are expecting the dry weather to continue this week with the sun bursting through, reaching highs of up to 22 degrees at times.

Not too bad for September, eh?

So after a soaking August, get out and enjoy it.
