The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Grace Uí Niallais, hosted a special civic reception for Jenny Rose McLaughlin this week, to mark her outstanding achievement at this year’s An Chomhdháil World Irish Dance Championships.
Jenny Rose McLaughlin became U14 World Champion at the competition earlier this year in Killarney. Mayor Uí Niallais welcomed Jenny and her family into the Mayor’s Parlour for a special evening on Tuesday 16th June.
Congratulating her on her recent win, the Mayor said, “I’d like to say a huge well done and congratulations to Jenny Rose, she should be incredibly proud of herself for achieving such a title at a young age. All those evenings and weekends of hard work and dedication has paid off and she deserves every success. Jenny Rose has a bright future ahead of her and I wish her all the very best.”
