The end of the school year saw Greenhaw Primary School say a special goodbye to three much-loved members of staff with the retirement of Vice Principal Mrs. Gallick and teachers Miss Wilson and Mrs. McGrellis.
The trio challked up an amazing 106 years of service to the school and over that time taught, supported, nurtured and cared for thousands of children who passed through their classrooms.
The occasion was marked with a special night of celebration at the Walled City Brewery in Ebrington where present and former staff turned out in large numbers to mark the occasion.
A school spokesperson, in paying tribute to the retirees said: ‘They will all be sorely missed at Greenhaw and their departure will be felt deeply by staff, pupils and the wider school family.
‘This truly is the end of an era for Greenhaw Primary School and they will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing them.
‘On behalf of everyone associated with the school, we truly thank Mrs. Fiona Gallick, Miss Wilson and Mrs. McGrellis for everything they have given to our school and we wish them all the happiness and rest they deserve in their retirement.
