The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Grace Uí Niallais, recently visited Owen Mor Care Centre as part of her mayoral initiative to visit care and residential homes across the city and district during her term in office.
Mayor Uí Niallais spent Thursday afternoon at the Culmore facility accompanied by the Hive Choir, who joined her as special guests. Hive Charity is the Mayor's chosen charity for the year, and members of the choir have committed to accompanying the Mayor on care home visits to provide entertainment and enjoyment for residents.
Speaking following the visit, the Mayor said:
"I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone at Owen Mor Care Centre for the warm welcome and hospitality shown to us on Thursday. The Hive Choir and I had a wonderful afternoon, and I hope the residents enjoyed it as much as we did.
"I would also like to pay tribute to the fantastic staff for the compassionate care and support they provide every day. Their dedication makes a real difference to the lives of residents and their families, and they are truly invaluable members of our community."
