Jamie-Lee O’Donnell wins £30,300 for Derry foodbank on Celebrity Catchphrase

Foyle Network Foundation has thanked local actress Jamie-Lee O’Donnell after she won an incredible £30,300 for the charity on ITV’s Celebrity Catchphrase.

The Derry Girls star appeared on the popular gameshow on Saturday evening, playing in support of Foyle Foodbank and helping shine a spotlight on the growing challenges facing local people and families across the city.

Foyle Network Foundation said the money raised will make a significant difference to people experiencing hardship across the local community.

Karen Mullan, Director of Foyle Network Foundation, said the organisation was overwhelmed by Jamie-Lee’s support and generosity.

She said: “We want to say a huge congratulations and thank you to Jamie-Lee for winning an incredible £30,300 for Foyle Network Foundation on Celebrity Catchphrase.

“Jamie-Lee’s support will make a real difference to local people and families facing hardship across our community.

“Every pound raised will help us continue providing food and essential items, financial advice, practical help, and hope to those who need it most.

“We are so grateful for her kindness and generosity in choosing to support Foyle Network Foundation.”

Ms Mullan also thanked the wider community for getting behind Jamie-Lee during the programme.

She added: “The level of support over the weekend was amazing to see. So many people got behind Jamie-Lee and took real pride in seeing her represent the city and support a local cause.

“We are constantly reminded of the compassion and generosity that exists in our city. From donations and fundraising to volunteering and simple acts of kindness, people continue to step forward to support one another, and that has a real impact on people’s lives every day.”
