Peter Mullan (35) from Victoria Road in Strabane is charged with an assault on November 1 last

A man currently on bail with a condition not to be intoxicated in public has been advised to follow pilot's practice and leave '10 hours between the bottle and the throttle'.

The advice from District Judge Ted Magill was given to Peter Mullan (35) from Victoria Road in Strabane who is charged with an assault on November 1 last.

The court was told that the defendant had breached his bail on three occasions and this time it was 'public drunkeness'.

Judge Magill told the defendant that he was allowed to drink in the house but not to be intoxicated in public.

He was re-released on bail to appear again on April 23.
