Magherafelt man pleads not guilty to grievous bodily harm charge

A Magherafelt man has pleaded not guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm.
Ryan Carron (31) of Coven Close in Magherafelt was the first defendant to be in the dock after Derry Crown Court returned following it's move to Coleraine during the pandemic.
The Recorder Judge, Neil Rafferty said that he welcomed the fact the court was back in Bishop Street. His comments were echoed by Paddy McDaid for the local solicitors and a spokesperson for the prosecution service.
Carron was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a man on a date between December 10 and December 13, 2021.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and the court was told that it was a case that would take one or two days.
The court heard that there was CCTV in the case but a defence barrister said that the footage did not show the actual incident just the vicinity of the bar where it occurred.
The case was adjourned for two weeks.
