The Mid Ulster Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (Mid Ulster IPSC) will hold a major 'March Against Genocide' on Sunday, September 28.

The march, which commences at 1.30pm, will gather outside Milltown Cemetery, Magherafelt near the O’Donovan Rossa pitches and proceed to Moyola Precision Engineering in Castledawson.

Organisers say it will be 'a march of solidarity with the people of Palestine and against the arming of Israel by our government'.

Civil Rights leaders will be among guest speakers at the march.

“The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry released a historic report concluding that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza," Mid Ulster IPSC spokesperson Saoirse O’Neill said.

"This makes it urgent for governments, public bodies, and private companies to end complicity in these crimes. We demand Moyola PE to immediate immediately divest F-35 parts.”

Demand of the march include:

An end to Invest NI funding for Moyola and other complicit factories across the North.

An end to taxpayer subsidies for companies feeding the war machine.

That the government call on Moyola to divest from the F-35 programme – to stop producing parts for warplanes and weapons systems used to bomb civilians in Gaza.

That MLAs, MPs, and local councillors publicly back this call and use their platforms to demand that Moyola withdraw from the F-35 programme.

And a nationwide suspension of all involvement in the F-35 programme.

“Following numerous protests, Moyola Precision Engineering has removed references to F-35 part manufacture from their website. This shows that pressure is working. We do not want parts for warplanes bombing children made in Mid Ulster," Mid Ulster IPSC spokesperson Pádraig Mac Niocaill said.

"Moyola has not responded to Mid Ulster IPSC’s letter inviting them to meet and discuss divestment. We demand a complete divestment of the manufacture of complicit parts from Moyola Precision Engineering. They have existed before joining the F-35 programme and can find income that is not soaked in blood. We will not rest until Moyola divests.”
