Man and woman to face trial on assault charge

A man and woman have been returned to Derry Crown Court on an assault charge.

Tamsin Palmer, 20, of Jefferson Court in Derry and Connor Toner, 30, of Skipperstone Road in Bangor, appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court. 

They were charged with assaulting a man with intent to commit grievous bodily harm on May 8 this year. 

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Neither of the accused chose to make any statements or call any witnesses at this stage.

Palmer, who is on bail, and Toner, who is in custody, were returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on November 28.
