A man has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with breaching his bail conditions.
The man, who cannot be named after being granted anonymity due to the threat existing in the city, was initially charged with, on October 11 last year, possession of cannabis and being in possession with intent to supply.
Bail was granted at the time on conditions including not to be in possession of a mobile phone.
On February 28, he was arrested for breaching his conditions regarding the phone and admitting to have taken cannabis.
This was his second breach and police objected to bail as they believe he is at risk of reoffending.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that the breach was accepted, telling the court that the defendant 'clearly has a problem' with drugs but stated that the breaches were 'on the lower end' as the phone was his mother's and he had not been involved in the supply of anything in recent months.
Bail was granted and he will appear again on March 24.
