A man has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with non fatal strangulation and a series of other domestic abuse charges.
Dean Robinson (30) of London Street in Derry appeared charged with the on fatal strangulation of a female on November 27 with the offence being aggravated by domestic abuse.
He was also charged with threatening to kill the same female and assaulting her occasioning actual bodily harm on the same date and again the offences are aggravated by domestic abuse.
Robinson was further charged with assaulting the same woman on December 4 and engaging in a course of action between November 27 and December 4 that could be deemed domestic abuse.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that there was an issue with the address as it was not clear if the alleged victim in the case was residing there.
District Judge Barney McElholm said that the issue of the address had to be clarified or any bail application 'won't get off the ground.'
The case was adjourned until December 11 and Robinson was remanded in custody until then.
