Man charged with sexual assault remanded after mother not willing to let her address be used

A man who appeared in court earlier this week charged with a sexual assault in Altnagelvin Hospital has been remanded in custody after it emerged his mother was not willing to let her address be used.
Christopher Woods (59) of Duke Street in Derry appeared on January 2 charged with sexually assaulting a female on January 1.
He was released on bail on condition he resided with his mother.
At today's sitting of Derry Magistrate's Court a police officer said that firstly the address put forward was not Woods' mothers and also that she was not willing to let him use her address.
Defence solicitor Keith Kyle said that there had been no further offending and his client's difficulty was simply that of an address.
He asked for Woods be released to an address approved by the PSNI.
District Judge Barney McElholm said that it had been stressed that by releasing Woods to the mother's address she would ensure he kept his bail conditions.
He revoked bail and Woods was remanded in custody to appear again on January 25.
