Man facing drugs charges granted anonymity at Derry Magistrate's Court

A man, who a barrister said had been the victim of an attack some time ago, has been granted anonymity at Derry Magistrate's Court today.

The man appeared at a preliminary enquiry where he faced four drug related charges. 

He was charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply on May 18, 2022 and also on dates between January 1 and February 28, 2022.

He was also charged with possessing cocaine on the same dates. 

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

The man said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on September 4 and released on bail.
