Man jailed for disorderly behaviour at Altnagelvin Hospital

A man has been jailed at Derry Magistrate's Court today on a series of charges including a disorderly behaviour at Altnagelvin Hospital.
Patrick McCallion (32) of Crawford Square in Derry admitted two charges of disorderly behaviour, one assault on a police officer and a charge of criminal damage to a police vehicle.
All of the offences occurred on June 7.
The court heard that police were called to Crawford Square due to an aggressive male.
They observed McCallion who was 'shouting and roaring' in the street.
He was warned about his behaviour but persisted and was arrested for disorderly behaviour.
The defendant was then taken to Altnagelvin Hospital and the court heard while there 'his behaviour escalated'.
He spat on a police officer and was abusive calling officers 'tramps' and then saying 'I am going to shoot you in the head.'
He also spat in the police vehicle.
A defence barrister said his client wished to express his apologies to everyone affected by his behaviour.
He described the behaviour as 'appalling' and said there was 'no getting away from that.'
McCallion was jailed for four months.
