A man currently on bail for a sexual assault charge appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with breaching his curfew.

Christopher Woods (59) of Duke Street in Derry appeared faces one charge of sexual assault on a female on October 17 last.

A police officer told the court that Woods was twenty minutes late for his 10.00pm curfew.

Police arrested the defendant at his address some time later.

The police officer said that the defendant had breached his bail on 6 occasions and seemed to be 'having difficulties adhering to his bail conditions.'

Defence solicitor Keith Kyle said his client didn't realise the time and simply had not made it home in time.

He said when police returned Woods was present and added that despite the bail history 'not being good' asked for bail again.

Woods was released to appear again on August 22.
