Middleton commends ‘heroic work’ of emergency services during Hallowe'en Festival

Foyle DUP MLA Gary Middleton has praised the “heroic work” of the emergency services over the Hallowe'en period.

Mr Middleton was speaking after the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) revealed they saw a 47% increase in calls across the North.

Pointing out the ambulance and police services also had a “busy” period, Mr Middleton said: "I commend our emergency services for the heroic work they do to keep our communities safe.

“Whilst many who work in our emergency services feel that they are only doing their duty, I want to put on record our thanks for the heroic work they do, not only last night, but every day of the year."
