The All-Ireland Open Sheep Shearing Championships drew a great crowd to An Grianan Estate in Bury on Saturday.

And the winner was Jack Robinson from Derry.

He emerged victorious where he overcame stiff competition that included defending champion Ivan Scott from Donegal.

Scott led the field from start to finish, shearing 20 hoggets in 15 minutes and 45 seconds, almost two minutes faster than Robinson.

However, he lost points on the quality of his shearing.

Earlier Scott won the Donegal confined title.

The Lynch Brothers All-Ireland and International Sheep Shearing Championships at An Grianan Estate have been a major success.

Today the highlight is the International Open Title and the Six Nations Championships.

Thousands have flocked to the venue where there are over 100 stands and many side events.
