Part of the A6 Glenshane Road will be fully closed to all through traffic on Sunday, May 10 between the hours of 6am and 8pm.

The closure will affect the Glenshane Road from its junction with the U5054 Mullagh Road to its junction with the C0557 Knockloughrim Link Road (Hillhead Road).

This is to allow for necessary road improvement works to be carried out along this stretch of the road.

The works are subject to favourable weather conditions and the Department for Infrastructure will keep the public informed of any change.

A DfI spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience and motorists should allow additional time when planning their journeys.

"Please see below map showing the diversion routes for all through traffic. The red line being the road closed and the purple line being the diversion route.

"Please travel with due care and attention along all diversion routes, especially if the roads are unfamiliar to you."
