Granaghan and District Women's Group in Granaghan and District Women's Group in Swatragh organised two hugely enjoyable workshops last Saturday, October 26.
The first one was a craft teddies workshop where 25 children (14 girls and 11 boys) picked and then stuffed their own teddy, giving it a name and birth certificate. This was the first time for the women’s group to organise such a workshop with tutor, Joanne Brown.
The second was the annual Jumping Clay workshop where 24 children, (13 girls and 11 boys) were lucky to get a place this time around and, under the expert guidance of Pauline Walsh and her two helpers, Connie and Ellen the children all created a fabulous Hallowe’en model.
The Craft Teddies workshop was made possible due to funding awarded to the women’s group by Carnglen Credit Union and Michelle from the Credit Union was there to present the cheque.
The Jumping Clay workshop was funded by Brockaghboy Windfarm and was part of the women’s group year-long project called “Time to Unwind. Both body and mind” which is drawing to a close shortly.
The children were also treated to treats and drinks and fresh fruit.
The local women's group would like to thank committee members who helped out and the mums, who stayed to help out on the day.
