Police praise organisation of peaceful Lundy's Day parade
Police in Derry have paid tribute to all those involved in the planning of yesterday's Apprentice Boys celebrations in the city.
Around 1,500 people, accompanied by more than 30 bands, took part in the annual Lundy's Day parade which passed off peacefully.
Speaking after the event, PSNI Foyle Area Commander, Chief Inspector Tony Callaghan, revealed no arrests were made.
He added: 'I would like to pay tribute to all those involved in the planning and organisation of the Lundy's Day commemoration parade.
'This includes the Apprentice Boys of Derry, marshals, local residents, the business community and the city centre management team.
'Building on the respect and trust that has developed over recent years, this year's event has been a story of continuing success and positivity for Derry.
'While we have had a substantial policing operation we endeavoured to ensure the city could operate as normally as possible.'
CI Callaghan concluded: 'I would like to thank everyone who came and made today a success and commend the good behaviour of all those involved.'
