Preliminary Enquiry against a Derry man facing terrorism charges has to go ahead - Judge says

The case was adjourned until September 28
A Preliminary Enquiry against a Derry man on terrorism charges has to go ahead on the next occasion, a District Judge has said.
Kieran McCool (55) of Ballymagowan Gardens was due to face a Preliminary Enquiry today charged with preparation of acts of terrorism on dates between January 1, 2016 and January 1, 2022.
He also faces seven charges of possessing articles for use in terrorism on various dates between December 31, 2016 and May 13, 2021.
At today's hearing a defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that on advice of counsel he was asking for an adjournment for four weeks.
The solicitor said that this should be the final adjournment before the PE can go ahead.
The case was adjourned until September 28 but District Judge Barney McElholm said it had to go ahead on that date.
