Ryanair say they remain 'very committed' to City of Derry Airport

A senior Ryanair figure today said they remain ‘very committed’ to City of Derry Airport. The low-cost airline recently announced new routes from Belfast International Airport. This led to some concern about the future of Ryanair’s current routes from City of Derry Airport. However, speaking in Derry this morning, Kate Sherry, Ryanair’s Director of Route Development, said they were ‘very committed’ to the local airport. Ms Sherry was in Derry to announce details of Ryanair’s winter 2016 schedule. The airline will operate a total of 19 flights each week from Derry. These will be to London Stansted, Liverpool and Glasgow. Ryanair also operates summer flights from Derry to Faro in Portugal. Ms Sherry said they would continue to operate from Derry as long as the demand existed and urged people to support the local airport.
