Sad passing for former Derry City striker Garry Jones

Former Derry City striker Garry Jones has died at the age of 65 after a battle with cancer.
The ex-Bolton Wanderers centre-forward played six times for the Candy Stripes and netted twice in City’s historic first game in the League of Ireland in their 3-1 win over Home Farm at Brandywell in 1985.
At the age of 15, he played for the Manchester schoolboys before joining Bolton in 1968, scoring 55 goals in 236 games.
As well as Derry, he also had spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Los Angeles Aztecs, Blackpool, Hereford United and Runcorn.
He scored all three goals in Bolton's victory over Manchester City in the League Cup in 1971.
Living in Bramhall in Cheshire, he had three children and four grandchildren.
