Sinn Fein MLA Karen Mullan congratulates success of Relay for Life with £115k raised to go 'towards research into beating cancer'

Sinn Féin Foyle MLA Karen Mullan has congratulated all those involved in the Cancer Research Relay for Life at the weekend in St Columb's Park.

Karen Mullan said: “I would like to congratulate Sharon Arbuckle, the organising committee and everyone who took part in Cancer Research Relay for Life at the weekend in St Columb's Park.

"This undoubtedly is one of the best events and fundraisers organised in the City, raising over £115,000 already.

"The massive amount raised by the teams who took part will go towards research into beating cancer.

"As a volunteer with the Pink Ladies I have seen at first hand how generous and supportive people in this City are, and was overwhelmed by the many people who took part and raised this enormous amount.

"The event had a carnival atmosphere with a range of local talent taking part keeping spirits high."
