The family of a little Waterside girl who died last month have raised thousands of pounds in her memory.

The family of Tilly McGranaghan and ‘Friends of Tilly’ group have handed over £7,690 to the Children’s Heartbeat Trust in memory Tilly who sadly passed away on May 2 aged just nine months old.

Tilly (pictured above) had been in Birmingham Children’s Hospital since before Christmas awaiting major heart surgery, her second since she was born.

Her parents, Finn and Lindsay, remained at her bedside.

However, they were heartbroken by her death last month.

Family and friends of Tilly recently held a number of fundraising events including a quiz, fundraising night, sponsored walk and coffee morning in aid of the charity who provide practical and emotional support to babies, children and young people born with congenital heart disease, and their families across Northern Ireland.

The Children’s Heartbeat Trust is a local charity in Northern Ireland who work closely with Clark Clinic at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children (RBHSC) funding top quality medical equipment, initiatives and research ensuring that children with heart disease in Northern Ireland receive the best care and treatment possible.

A central aim of the charity is to provide family support and the charity works to ensure that each child and family receives the support and information that they need to cope with this illness.
