Two men charged with number of motoring offences in Derry

Police officers from the Derry City and Strabane District Support Team arrested two men after stopping a car while conducting a routine patrol in the Bloomfield Park area of Derry on the afternoon of New Year's Eve.

A 28-year-old man was later charged to appear at Derry Magistrates Court on Wednesday, January 1, charged with driving whilst disqualified, using a motor vehicle without insurance and fraudulently using a vehicle registration mark.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in charge when unfit through drink or drugs and was released on bail to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.
